Invercote and Incada – the converters’ paperboard of choice

Belgium converter Du Caju Printing & Packaging used Invercote and Incada paperboard in conjunction with a third paper material to produce The Origin Box A survey of brands conducted by Opticom International Research found two paperboard varieties from Iggesund Paperboard (Iggesund) are perceived ‘the most valuable in Europe’.

Over 200 converters that process paperboard into finished packaging ranked Iggesund’s Invercote and Incada at the very top of the list. Converters in Germany, France, the UK, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium and The Netherlands took part in the survey. Their businesses supply packaging solutions for pharma and healthcare products, cosmetics and beauty, chocolate and confectionery, dry foodstuffs, frozen and chilled foods, and wines and spirits. The biennial study was first launched in 2004. Since then, Iggesund’s brands have consistently placed at the top.

‘Our consistent ranking in this survey serves as confirmation that both our paperboard families offer what the market wants,’ comments Kenneth Nysten, sales and marketing director at Iggesund. ‘It is particularly pleasing the survey participants are converters, which make a living from transforming our white and lightweight paperboard into functional and elegant packaging.’

Sustainability and quality are essential

Converters have high expectations when it comes to the printability of paperboard as well as its runnability in the conversion process and its folding properties. Invercote and Incada meet these expectations with ease.

Iggesund and Stora Enso are perceived as leaders in sustainability in the paperboard market, even though the majority of respondents did not recognise any clear leader in the packaging industry.

‘The opinion of these converters reinforces that we are heading in the right direction with our vision. Their appreciation of our sustainability efforts is important and a strong statement in favour of our products,’ Nysten concludes.
