Latest solutions showcased at Fespa Africa 2017

The Canon stand at the eventThe Fespa Africa 2017 event co-located with Sign Africa and Print Africa was held at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 13 to 15 September.

The print and signage expo involved the get together of industry professionals showcasing their latest technology, equipment, solutions and software developments.

Exhibiting at the show was imaging solutions provider, Canon, demonstrating its latest addition of printers. The Océ Colorado 1640 was the main feature at the company’s stand. It is a wide format printer, powered by UVgel and fills the gaps between current technologies in the roll-to-roll production market.

According to a number of Canon representatives, the company broke all the rules with this technology. The machine features a heavy-duty drawer mechanism that holds up to two rolls of media at one time, each weighing up to 110 pounds. These two rolls can be the same media type and size or different.

The UVgel print heads incorporate patented on-the-fly quality assurance control with continuous nozzle monitoring. This is to detect and correct any underperforming nozzle.

Roland showcases its best technologies

A multitude of Roland machines were on display. These included the LEF 12i, 200 and 300 object UV printers. These machines are able to print on a range of materials from book to cellular phone covers. Also on display were the SG-300 print/cut wide format machines.

Konica Minolta’s digital label printers’

The bizhub PRESS C71cf at Konica Minolta’s stand was the centre of attention. The technology is ideal for label printers who want to shift volumes from conventional presses to digital. It enables faster delivery times, personalisation, versioning and the production of on-demand runs. This technology is verified environmentally friendly, with certifications stating that the label is safe for consumption and does not harm the environment. This is owing to its 100 percent biodegradable toner.

Riso’s ComColor range

Printer supplier, Riso exhibited its range of printers, which included the FW 1230, FW5230 and GD 9630.

The ComColor black FW 1230 provides low-cost, high speed printing. It is an ultra-fast black and white printer that can be used with a variety of optional post-printing accessories.

The ComColor FW5230 boasts ultra-fast print speeds combined with a fast first print time to streamline printing. This technology helps make busy work environments more efficient.

The ComColor GD 9630 series features a small footprint. It is ideal for a variety of work environments and ensures high levels of productivity.
